Hi everyone.

I'm new here, so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I'm looking at finally activating the ADSL on my Telkom Line and getting a router to start up a home network.

The main use will be for gaming online, with a bit for web browsing and downloading media either on laptop, cellphone or tablet.

Any ideas on a good router to choose - all the review I come across are from the States or UK, and their bandwidth is soo much faster than ours. So I'm looking for some personal experience in SA.

Hoping to keep the damage on the wallet to below R1750, but the max I could do is R2000.

Any ideas, suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I'm using a cheap Trendnet TEW-658BRM. I've heard they're problematic, but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones

Doesn't really matter, get one that suites your needs. Number of ports and type of wifi you will use..

ASUS DSL12NU B1 or one of the TP-Link Routers. The ASUS has 5dbi antennae that gives me way better and stable coverage throughout the house. You can purchase the ASUS from Esquire.

Hi There,
I would go with the TP-Link W968 or the Netgear DGN2200. Had bot and both give good coverage inside the house. The TP-Link should be around R200 less expensive than the Netgear.
Shop around and check the prices as they do vary.

Regards

Tim
