Please guys can you advise me accordingly.
So I need a bit of data to use at home for leisure/personal use.
I do not want to go the ADSL route thus it leaves me with 3G/4G.

I thought of getting the telkom 3g 10GB option. My question is what router must I buy to plug the 3g dongle into to create a wifi network in my house?
I am not clued up with routers. The router should preferably be plugged in at all times.

Check which USB modem they offer. Go to this thread and see what routers are available and see if the USB modem is on the router's compatibility list.

There are newer routers also in the market like the Dovado Tiny, Dovado Pro, Asus RT-N66u, etc.

How much are you willing to spend?

Any of the Dovado UMRs. They are constantly updated and work with pretty much any USB internet connection - not just 4G or 3G sticks, but Neotel phones and iBurst modems too.

How much are you willing to spend? Haven't thought of that yet ... Definitely not more than R1000. Will go and check out the link you provided.

So where do I buy Dovado (droma) products in the Joburg/Pretoria area?

See if you can still find the Huawei B683 router at a Telkom store.

I'll go and check at a Telkom store. Would the tplink MR3420 be a good option?

Will skip the TPlink then. Not up for struggling.

I don't know why some others have problems with the TP-Link MR3420. Mine is 100% reliable and stable. Problems I had always eventually turned out to be Cell C or modem related issues. But then no matter what electronic device we talk about, someone will always be having a problem.
