I have lost the power supply to my old "Telkom" marconi router. Does anyone know the voltage that should go into the router. (It is one of those very first marconi routers issues by telkom.)

I'm pretty sure I have the same one - is it the adsl/router without wireless?

If so, I'll check this evening and post the voltage here...

<Edit>

The charger I have for my marconi adsl modem/router is a Branell B2003 - AC Input 230v, 50hz, AC Output 12v 1.25a - with surge protection.

hth.

Most routers are 12V but you get 9V routers.

My power supply for my mega100wr got fried by lightning. Any idea where I can get another? Telkom do not sell it (how daft). I tried a1 radio but they said R295 for a regulated power supply...thats ridiculous.

Anybody know anywhere in the durban area I can get this please?

You can get one a spar/picknpay/checkers ect ect

Look there with the two point adapters/plugs lightbulbs

Look for a Ellies AC/DC power supply.

It has a bunch of plugs. It works for both my D-Link router and my NetGear router. I also use it to charge my 12v torch. It even works nice with my laptop cause its got adjustable voltage from 3v - 12v

Its only R55 depending where you buy its. Here is a photo of mine: :)

Shot!

That's great thanks a lot. Will pop in at one of the supermarkets after work.

much appreciated.

9V or 12V probably won't make a difference to the router anyway, they all regulate down to 5V internally anyways.

Using 12V on a 9V would result in your router having to dissipate more heat...

Jeez, you a few days too late, threw out 2 of those Marconi adapters last week, dropped it off at an eWaste depot!

Just get 1 of those adapters like cavedog said, they work fine.
