Hi guys, I am new here.
I am wondering if someone can help me before I try the trying route of phoning Telkom. I've had Telkom broadband for over two years with a 2gig cap every month. For the past 5 or 6 days, my connection has been dropping regularly and when I unplug the power cord to the router and plug it back in it solves the problem. Any ideas what is causing this? If it's the router, where are the best places to get it repaired / replaced? Money is of the essence here, as I am one person working from home. Thank you in advance for replies.

Check your SNR margin, Line Attenuation and CRC errors.

On some routers when the CRC error count reaches 800 errors then the router drops the line and syncs again. It sometimes causes the router to freeze as well.

Okay I'm a real beginner here. How do I do this? It's a normal Telkom ADSL router Broadband that was supplied when it was installed.

There is no model nr. It just says ADSL Router Broadband and has the Telkom logo on it. Unless you mean the Telkom material number?
