I have moved into a complex with 15 flats and the FTTH box installed is in the lounge. My bedroom is roughly 20 meters away and using a MI Box to stream. I'm using 2 x Tenda routers, managed to use the one as a repeater to get better wifi signal. But still not one hundred percent stable when streaming, buffering becomes a problem. I have a 100mbps line from Afrihost and using Frogfoot as my fiber provider. How can I improve getting great speed and quality wifi in the above configuration, or would a Lan cable be the better option? Keeping in mind that my MI box does not have an ethernet port?

Any suggestions?

The repeater configuration is likely the reason your WiFi sucks.

Running Ethernet between the router and repeater will potentially help dramatically but it’s still a crappy configuration best solved by going for a mesh solution as proposed above.

If getting ethernet cable to your box is not an issue then... https://www.takealot.com/ugreen-usb3-0-to-gigabit-ethernet-adapte/PLID40361966 I use one on the Mibox which is furthest away from router... the kids room does well on 5ghz wifi as signal only needs to go through one wall whereas our room its two walls and gets a bit finicky at times hence usb adapter... runs flawless!

Mi Box don't play nice on 2.4ghz band...it likes 5ghz
