 (Knowledge of ADSL - Basic) I have an older Telkom ADSL Router, the one with a single network port. The problem is that I can't seem to access the settings on the router - not the way the manual describes it. I have plans to change my ISP, and assume that some changes in the router must take place. I don't want to sign up before I know how to access the router.
Any ideas anyone?

What have you tried? If memory servers, the router ip address is 10.1.1.1 or 10.1.1.2

EDIT: I also seem to remember something about using Telkom PPPOE interface. If so, you ip may or may not be the same range as the router, because the router is in effect a modem. Might be talking cr@p here, cannot remember, as I only used the macaroni(sic) router once.

Network Settings

According to the manual the router's LAN IP address is 192.168.10.200 and the WAN port is 10.10.10.10. My network runs on 192.168.1.XXX. Only gives me a "Page not found" error in IE. Now, according to the manual that is because the DHCP server has been enabled on the router. "Please cofigure NIC and browser manually". I have also disabled the firewall completely, set IE to its lowest security settings and disabled Proxomitron. BTW. my internet works fine.

If it is an older alcatel ethernet modem, try 127.0.0.1 - this is what works for my old acatel modem

just change your computer ip to 192.168.10.1, after you changed the settings and ip on the router you can just change your computers ip back to 192.168.1.xxx

Problem solved

It's an Marconi modem, but changing my computer's IP address to 192.168.10.1 worked! - Thanks guys.
