So last night I reset my router (D-Link 2540U) as I was running in bridged mode and wanted to setup a PPPoE connection. Router starts up, I login, select WAN but everytime I try to setup a connection I get this error.

I tried about 20 times last night and got nowhere. Tried a few times before work and nothing. I can view device info and diagnostics fine but as soon as I try and setup my adsl account I get this stupid error.

Hi

Can you ping the router, and what is your pc's ip address, is it in the same range?

D

Ok, if your pc's ip is something els like 10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x you wont be able to access the router.

You have to change your ip to EG. 192.168.1.2 so you are in the same range as the router. Subnet can be 255.255.255.0

Hope it helps

Clearly he can access the router, but it's giving him errors when navigating around the setup.

micro httpd isn't very FF/Chrome friendly, had similar issues with a Mitel server before.

That's a problem with the newer model Dlink 2500u's (HW revision T1). It eventually works for me if I just retry clicking the link again a few times. Changing browser probably won't help as its a timeout on the router on the httpd
