Router upgrade worth it?

I am currently using a Telkom 105WR wireless router and I might possibly be able to get a Netgear DG834G for gratis.

Is there a big difference between these modems? Would I notice any difference?

Please do not get a Netgear 834 if your existing router is working fine. You'll end up upgrading from buggy firmware to buggy firmware and good luck getting half-bridge working.

I'm sure some fanboys will come in here and flame away about how good Netgears are, but that's probably because they haven't tried anything else.

Anyway that's my suggestion. Don't say that you weren't warned

Thanks Smooth, that is exactly why I asked first. My current router works just fine so really there is no point to upgrade if I am going to see no benefit.

And I am certainly not keen on downgrading
