Hi All,

Just wondering what would be the benefit of using a RouterBoard instead of a normal switch if no routing is needed?

Both have gigabit ethernet ports etc. Would the throughput of the RouterBoard exceed that of a switch if put under load?

Thanks in advance

All depends which RB you are comparing to which switch? If you are comparing a cheap RB VS a managed layer 3 switch obviously the switch will win but if you use a Mikrotik Cloud core router as a switch you will likely have better throughput on the RB.

If it is small scale deployment you wont notice any difference.
