Long story , looking to nuke ADSL . I am looking at RAIN , but the problem is that 18h00 - 23h00 no go zone. So i will have to get a backup package to cover that time period. I cant afford the cost of a router right now. So are there any packages that offer a decent router free , that is also rain compatible ? That would also be a good RAIN dead zone package

I literally have no idea how large the packge will have to be . Most likely around 50 gigs anytime. Dont need the after hours **** as Rain comes back on at 23h00 . My samsung A30 can do a wifi hotspot , but i have a LAN at home . Wirelss network cards may e an option , but the cost of wireless cards may well be close to getting a package that may well include a LTE type router .

Any help would be great please .
Thanks

Good day,

What is the make & model number of your ADSL router, and is that yours?

I assume you are getting a router with Rain?

Whats your location?

I have bought 2x Huawei B525 routers (secondhand) from people on gumtree for about R800 each. I'm using Rain uncapped in the one and Telkom prepaid LTE in the other.

A B315 router goes for about R500 on gumtree. I would recommend that you have a look on gumtree and get a Telkom prepaid sim card, to cover the peak period.

However, if you can find a B525 or even a B618, then go for them rather, as you can use the new MTN fixed LTE with them as well (should the Telkom speed suck).

I had a look, that router doesn't have a USB port, so unfortunately you can't connect a LTE Dongle in place of the ADSL line to turn it into a LTE router.

With MTN when you select a contract, you can select your device, Telkom Mobile data is much cheaper than MTN, so maybe have a look what they offer.

I looked at that but those usb routers are only 3g . Not the 4g :( . Which sucks :(
