Hi All

I have a D-Link DIR-320/EEU Wifi Router. Is there away, by loading a 3rd party firmware to get the USB port to accept a Vodacom USB stick and allow a connection?

In theory, you should be able to install OpenWRT on it, which would enable full control over what you can do with that USB port.

i don't know about this particular router, but sometimes the reason why routers do not recognize a USB dongle is zero-cd (which is a convenience feature for windows users, while most of the routers run some version of linux). you can read up on zero-cd here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_CD-ROM_switching_utility or just use google.

so another way would be to just find the code to send your dongle via serial to disable the zero-cd feature. then your router should recognize the dongle easily.
