Routesentry - Cannot dial second connection

Hi,

I installed RASPPPOE on my vista machine, and routesentry 0.05 beta for vista.

I have set the number of WAN endpoints to 2, in the RAS PPPOE settings dialog.

Routesentry connects to the local account just fine (I've also unticked the "use default gateway" option under IPv4, for the local connection) but the international won't connect.

log : 813 You have attempted to establish a second broadband connection while a previous broadband connection is already established using the same device or port. Please disconnect the earlier connection and then reestablish the connection.

yes.

must I untick any of the other protocols? (TCPIPv4/6, etc)?

Not that I know of. Is your router set to bridged mode? If so, then I'm out of ideas. It's been a while since I used Routesenty and I can't remember anything else to check.

But remember that in vista, your international connection is your lan adapter (set up on your router). So you only actually dial 1 PPPOE connection ie the local one...

Excellent point spikey. I assumed the OS was windows XP. RASPPPOE does not work on vista as far as I know.

One method to enable two (or more) PPPoE connections on Vista is to do the following:

1. Open regedit.exe
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} key
3. Under this search for the key which has “DriverDesc” value as “WAN Miniport (PPPOE)”
4. Under this reg key change the value of “WanEndpoints” to 2.
5. Reboot the machine.
