Here's my scenario:
I use RouteSentry to create 2 connections to the internet simultaniously. This is done using customised 'PPP over ethernet protocol' drivers which allow you to change the max amount of connections to make. The default of 1 connection can not be exceeded if you don't use this driver.

Some times I disable RouteSentry and manually connect only 1 of my accounts to the internet. All works fine until the standard 24 hours for an adsl connection is reached and it disconnects. I've configured my connections to auto-reconnect (so I don't have to worry about doing it).

When the first connections is made, if you look under the command 'route print', it lists the interface as 0x20004 WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface. When the connection drops and is auto-reconnected it sometimes (not always) creates a whole new interface listed as 0x30004 WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface (for example). At this point there are now 2 'routes' listed in the actual routing tables. Unfortunately, the original interface route is now not valid anymore (remember, it got disconnected), but until I reboot, all internet traffic wants to go through it. It doesn't eventually expire or time-out, so I can't just wait it out.

Is there a way I can delete the invalid interface? I tried removing the invalid routes with the 'route delete' command, but that doesn't work properly. Is there an application that can make maintenance of routes easier or more user-friendly?

Any help would be appreciated. However, giving me the standard mcse reply to reboot the machine is not a solutions!
