So there are rumours that an all-electric Phantom could hit the streets in about a year or so.
IMO this makes a lot of sense for BMW in terms of the Rolls Royce brand, and the electric Phantom itself. Why?
The brand gets some serious green and hi tech credentials on this one, and in terms of the car:
For somebody who can afford a Phantom, another half a million bucks or so for a massive battery pack isn't much. An electric drivetrain will mean an even smoother, quieter ride than the standard Phantom is able to attain. The extra weight of the battery pack will be much less noticeable in a car of this size, especially once you've removed the massive heavy ICE, 100l fuel tank etc.
All in all, a great idea, I think.
