RS 486

Hi All , i have a 5kw sunsynk invertor and I want to use the RS485 port , with a usb to RS485 Dongle, to a raspberry PI ,
after connecting and testing the units with my invertor , There was no communication from the RS485 port.
The unit was connected to another set up and works correctly, Can anybody advise me on what I have missed .
Are there settings in my invertor ??

I think I had similar problem and I dropped speed to 9600
