Hello

This is my first post. If in wrong section please move.

I have a gps unit sending data to its serial port.
I want to send this data to a remote computer by connecting the serail port on the GPS to the internet.

I have Moxa Nport6110 Modbus/TCP to serial adapter. I think this will do it but have not suceeded.

The broadboand connection is a cat45 connector on ADSL cable.
There will be no permanent PC beside the GPS.

Any help please

The GPS is a permanent base station processing gps data. It is at a remote location 50 km from our office. I want it to send this data to our server via broadband internet connection the data rate is 1mb pew hour 24/7.

I can also monitor the GPS unit via http interface if i get the serial link going.
I may need a router but not sure.

A device connected to an ADSL line isn't exactly going to move very far, so simply take a reading and post it on your website/ftp server :D

The data that the GPS is transmitting is used for calculations at our office. that is whey we need it streamed to our server
