Considering using RSAWeb as fibre ISP, any reviews on them? Can't find a recent thread about them.

Have their business fibre 50/50 connection at our work place, local speeds are good but anything international is horrible, and their support say oh well there is nothing we can do. We spoke to our consultant IT company and every customer they have with them has the same problem with international speeds. We stuck in a contract with them though :/ end of the contract i'll convince my boss to switch...

Are you experiencing any issues on local (JHB) traffic right now?

International traffic still a problem on RSAWEB? Their Octotel packages are all pretty cheap compared to other ISP's, so considering moving to them - but just a bit concerned about the service offering! No test account available.

The reason their packages are cheap is because they're essentially sister companies. So they get a better rate from Octotel than other ISPs. Shared directors and such at points in time etc.

Thanks for the info! Any idea around their traffic routing and the issues mentioned around that by CrypticZA earlier in this thread?

^This is what their network looks like.

So i downloaded with my bosses permission the latest CoD Warezone BR at work it was 80GB, max speed i got was 3.2mb/s. On my 20/2 fibre line at home with cool ideas i max out at 2.6mb/s. The 3.2 was not even consistent and this is when town was basically dead since everyone was working from home.

Their network is horrible we would leave them in a heartbeat if we were not in a contract at work.

RSAWeb user here, via Octotel

100/100 line, I'm always maxing out the line when it comes to downloads (steam and other game related apps)
My content is downloaded via https, no throttle/shaping. Going nicely between 10 - 12mB/s

I can't recall having slow connectivity since I signed up in December 2019, *touch wood*

I have a feeling our issue is because we on their shitty RSAWEB City Fibre, but when paying them R5k per month their support basically said "there is nothing we can do" and all the other companies our IT company deal with in the same area have the same issues so could just be they are horrible in Cape Town CBD

Guys, without hijacking - I want to upgrade from 100/25 FTTH currently with RSAweb.

Not interested in migrating to another ISP - Do I go for the 200/200 or 1000/100 option? difference in price is negligible.

Most of the usage is my kids iPads, Google Classroom, Netflix, YouTube, Xbox and then I use the connection for work VPN (local), remote services to our head office via RDP...

Any comments or user experience with the 200/200 and 1000/100 would be welcome - only interested in comment on the actual line speed.

I believe the 1000/100 packages are 1000 local only and 100 international (some networks give you more than 100 though) where 200/200 is 200 international and local. So majority of what you listed is local so you would need to weigh up if you want the extra local speed or international. I am not 100% sure on the 200 international so someone please correct me if I am wrong :)
