Bought a RTX3080 at launch for around R22 000 which was still expensive at that time. Would've strongly considered upgrading to a 4080 16Gb if it was around the same price.
But given an exchange rate reaching almost R18 and how its already priced in regions outside the US (€1469 for the 4080 16Gb in Germany) it's going to be hellishly expensive in SA and not worth it until the prices come way down.
Real "screw you" to the consumers by not having the "4080" 12Gb be the 4070 considering its specs.
192-bit memory interface - when was the last time we had x80 cards that had less than 256 bit?
I think it was the 8800GT that had a certain variant that was cut down about 15 years ago.
And 48% of the cores of a 4090 too, the 3080 had 85% of the cores of the 3090.
