Where would one get the rubber that surrounds a car window (small side window at the back) and who would install this?

If you need someone to install it, then go to any autoglass installer, they'll be able to source the rubber as well. If it's a commonly broken-into car like a Citigolf, then they might even have stock.

Installation normally involves removing the guide rail between the small window and the main window in the door and then shoving the pane and rubber into the frame. Most side windows are like this, there are a few that are bonded windows, then you really need a specialist.

Thanks guys, was hoping it was only a glass place and not only the agents that can do it

My brother got his for his old MKII escort from a rubber company in Rebecca street Pretoria West. Will see if I can find them, maybe they can ship country wide?

Found them:

Thanks for the suggestion but it turns out for the Tiguan you cannot just buy the rubber, you need to buy the whole ****ing window. R2000 ****yeah!!
