Due to a 3rd damaged router (suspected due to power surges) I am now trying to find a more robust / rugged router / setup to minimise this from happening again in the future.
The router unfortunately operates in a very harsh power environment (generators going on and off and intermittent Eskom power when it works). Could some one please recommend a router and setup to try and prevent damage to the equipment.
There is a UPS (Inverex 1000) in place to try and smooth the power to some extent (or at least prevent the equipment from being exposed to frequent switching on and off).
My questions are therefore two fold:
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

My questions are therefore two fold:
- Is there something else worth placing in front of the router to smooth out the power issues e.g. surge protection?
- Is there a specific router recommended that one can use that is particularly robust so that we are less likely to experience these problems i.e. more of an industrial strength wifi router than a home office type wifi router?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
