Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp denies contact with Liverpool

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed there has been no contact between Liverpool and himself about replacing Roy Hodgson at Anfield should the club’s new owners decide to remove the former Fulham boss.

“There has been no approach and there's no point talking about it," Klopp told the Guardian.

The Bundesliga side are currently top of the table after 14 wins from 17 games, and Klopp has become a target for Liverpool because of his attacking mentality.

The 43-year-old has been in charge of Dortmund since May 2008 and has rebuilt the club into title contenders once again, and club chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke reiterated Klopp would be staying in Germany to hopefully lead the club towards their first title in eight years.

Report: Liverpool's Roy Hodgson To Be Sacked Despite Victory

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is believed to be heading for the exit door despite the recent victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The Reds saw a mini-revival of sorts during the encounter at Anfield, as the side initially went down and mounted a comeback as Fernando Torres and Joe Cole scored as the Merseysiders took all three points.

However, The Mirror reports that this will only delay an imminent departure for the former Fulham boss, with the upper echelon of the club looking towards the potential appointment of Kenny Dalglish as an interim manager until a long-term replacement can be found.
