Don’t go into Africa in a stupid car that doesn't have a spare wheel!!!
So what do you do when you have 300kms to go and you get a flat tyre?

....you continue till the tyre disintegrates, then continue on the rim, till the rim is so worn out, the shock mounting touches the ground, then you STOP, 150 km’s from the nearest town and elephants all around

i saw one guy driving like that in the early hours of the morning, when driving home from truth....sparks were flying everywhere!

he was drugged or something and didn't even know till we told him (drove next to him hooting)

Run flats are fine for places like europe where you are always close to civilasation. Africa I would not use run flats, I like the idea of a spare tyre.

X5's with run flats come with a biscuit tyre in the trunk.

Forget the blowout that probably damaged the suspension and shocks not just the rims.

Friends dad drove like that in a RS4, long story short, shocks and suspension at rear had to be replaced (think some other stuff was damaged too but I can't remember the entire story), expensive proposition on a RS4 I can tell you, total damage was > R100 000.
