I have googled all over for this and it seems I am the only one struggling with this.

I am trying to move over to runtastic, in part because I use all their other apps and just want my data in 1 spot, but the GPS for me is so terrible its not possible, the GPS will not stay active if its out of focus or the screen is off, I have apps to ensure GPS remains on when the screen is off, even though its not needed with any of my other apps. Even tried some keep alive app that's meant to force gps on no matter what, yet while using runtastic I get a few meters and its "GPS Signal Lost"

Been using endomondo for almost 2 years now and its actually lost GPS like 2 maybe 3 times, and that really could of just been *** weather or my phone being bored.

I have contacted runtastic support and beyond telling me that they explicitly programmed the app to NOT use agps, they where not of any help.

I have an Ascend P6, but I had the same problem with run on my Note as well, different OSes, so I have no idea why its so **** on my phone ye the world is no in outrage about its poor quality, how can everyone else be having such accurate readings when its the only app not using AGPS, I managed to find 1 other person who had problems with it, apparently it lost signal at some point and he "ran through a lake"

Anyone have any ideas, assistant apps that actually work maybe, if need be I dont mind using an app to help bolster its GPS, its easier to have all my details in 1 place than have to export endos everytime.

I use Runtastic on my Note 3 without issue. Solid as a rock.
I tried to use it with the iPod 4 but that was a huge fail. Lost GPS every 2 mins.

This is what I really do not get, even without AGPS it should still work witha high level of accuracy, it would just take longer to lock onto the satelites and longer to reconnect, but as long as its connected it should be fine.

Last night I tested it again, with GPS Status running, I t locked onto 7 satellites, solid lock, screen off and 100m later the signals gone, and this is with that keep alive ap running. I tested that app for about 10min at work, inside and the signal never vanished, it locked and stayed locked, the moment I throw runtastic into the mix its all downhill from there.

Try trackbooster cwith endomondo sometimes it keeps the GPS on other times you still cut off corners. I turn it on and then run it in the background. It works better than not having it on.

I found this quite amusing, took Ifan! and Park@82's solutions and tested run on my way home.

Had a perfect lock, Green GPS indicator in run, 6 connected satelites reported by GPS Status, according to my route, I flew home.

Did another test this AM using the free version and I heard it loose gps 2 maybe 3 times, but the route it mapped was still spot on, really odd that the free one seems to work perfectly yet the paid one not.

I know I sometimes have an issue with it not picking up immediately. I just turn mine on a minute before I run and then I am fine. I have never encountered your problems though with the paid version.

Its odd, endo been fine for years, still fine. What I did notice is with using one of the above suggestions to lock the gps, I had it locked before opening run and as soon as I opened it, it lost the lock, cannot be a coincidence that it lost lock to 4 satellites the instant I opened the app, but at least it got it back, unlike the pro one.
