Hey guys

Looking for a Runx RSI

dont wanna spend more than 85k on it. I have checked plenty of sites and nada or bad condition. should be clean and neat with >150k on the clock.
if anyone spots one or knows of anyone let me know please.

yes but i think 12k for that car is a bit too much... i think 100k should be the value for money

Well I am not the biggest fan of vw but for that money you could prob pick up a hot polo tdi

You could probably find a decent 2003 model for around R90k. But rather spend another R10k and get one in better condition.

If you're based in JHB or altitude, its not going to perform at its best, but if you're based at the coast, it is the best choice for an everyday decently fast hatch.

Things to look out for, 2nd gear grating at high rpm - possible signs of gearbox problems, but in 90% of the cases, its the pressure plate that needs changing.
Gear linkage cables.
Make sure the ECU is the 141kw spec.

The engines are bulletproof, so far I've never heard of a failure from the engines due to wear and tear, rather due to driver error (wrong downshifting = dropping valves, etc).

For a 1.8 N/A car, it is the most fun you can have. Go for it if you get one

now this is teh advice i like...
thanks alot TriggerTRD

im in cpt will probably buy one from JHB and drive it down.
How is maintenance on teh car?

Shot bro. You're buying a lovely car so you're really going to enjoy it. Guys with minor mods have done between 14.6-14.8 quarter mile times (in Cape Town too)

Maintenance is minimal. Full service is R800 I think, clutch+pressure plate is R1250 and that is obviously not changed everytime.lol.

As I said, for an everyday car, its the best bang for buck. Drive it under 6k rpm for saving gas and when you want to belt it, you have 8000rpm of glory. Go for it bud. All the luck.

If you're prepared to come to Durbs, theres plenty neat ones here for R90k/R100k.

ah nice man i am looking for a white/black/silver one.
Do you know where i can find them?
searched most of the time online and getting most from JHB.

@ Leforn, unfortunately there are very few around the country for sale:(

I was searching last year and there were less than 10 for sale and they were sold very quickly........forcing me to buy a BMW!

@ Hippo, the initial release of the RSI saw them with a '126kw' spec ecu, and there was a recall for that, then upgraded to the proper ECU of 141kw:)
