The award of a knighthood to the author Salman Rushdie justifies suicide attacks, a Pakistani government minister said today.

"This is an occasion for the 1.5 billion Muslims to look at the seriousness of this decision," Mohammed Ijaz ul-Haq, religious affairs minister, told the Pakistani parliament in Islamabad. "The west is accusing Muslims of extremism and terrorism. If someone exploded a bomb on his body he would be right to do so unless the British government apologises and withdraws the 'sir' title."

Nice. Such tolerance from a government minister.

Is exploding a bomb on your body not extremist?

If everyone stopped preaching from the side line and all participated in these bombings perhaps they would stop. It's rather absurd to preach from the side lines screaming 'Jihad!' when some poor other blindly fanatical bloke blows himself up.

not really slooth if all the guys organising these attacks did wtf would organise these poor fanatical blokes?

i say if you wanna die because you believe this rubbish

RIP and i hope your miss your targets and die alone

i think they just put pigs all over iraq, the bombs would dry up chop chop

I think all religions are a backwards tradition that should be phased out of modern human life.

Having said that, what is it with Islam and its adherents that love to portray it and themselves as stone-age troglodytes?

Now, I know some people will jump up and down and go "not all of us are like that" but the countries that are Islamic states tend to be like this, and more worryingly tend to be more vocal.

This whole issue just illustrates exactly what I mean. Where are all the moderates telling Iran and Pakistan to shut up and not try speak for every muslim out there?

It was the same with the Denmark cartoon about Islam. Remember how the Muslims went crazy they will blow up Denmark cos of its insult to Islam. But yet again not all Muslims are like that

Islam as a whole is about being humble and pious. Thats the basis of Islam, simplicity! It does conflict with the new way of life so there are those fanatics that tend to spoil what the Islamic way of life is.

And if you have to think about it, it makes sense, the whole world is going mad, flaunting wealth, promiscuity, lack of self respect and respect for others, being humble and down to earth is the best way of iradicating all of this.

Like I said there are some bad apples, myself included.

(Apologies for posting in bith Rushdie threads, but I thought to keep the award and the reaction to it, seperate.)

See all this crap, if they were truly religious even Osama himself will say WTF for, you the queen of who?!!!

...errm, if everyone participated it certainly would stop ...eventually:o
