Hi experts

What would cause extremely fast rusting?

We have recently installed a solar/inverter/battery system and in a period of 2 months, seen parts of the system including the breakers rust badly. Yes, there has been a lot of rain, but the system is in a dry garage with no visible water or damp penetration.

Are there specific types of cabling, bolts, screws that should be used that are rust proof?

I live 5 minutes from the coast. My system was installed last year. Also in the garage. No issue with rust. How damp is your garage?

multiple possible causes already mentioned. If the batteries are lead acid - as opposed to the various lithium options - could also be corrosive gas from the batteries.

especially if the batteries are mounted under the inverter ,first big nono never mount lead acid underneath .
