England face crisis at fly-half

England could start the crunch World Cup match against South Africa on Friday without a regular fly-half after Olly Barkley was injured in training.

Barkley has been named in England's XV but faces a scan on a hip injury, while Jonny Wilkinson is not in the 22.

Just hope that Schalk actually plays, and that we recover from the bashing against the Samoans. Should be an awesome game!

It will be interesting to see what the final run on team will look like. I would like to see Pretorius in on flyhalf and if necessary Butch on inside (Yeah i know butch and jake are joined at the hip)

I would not run Pretorius yet, he has been out for so long!

Butch at flyhalf with Steyn at inside center. Both have the ability to create space and both have a good boot.

Nice rightup on keo.co.za with some interesting insight from Jake.

I will still be surprised if Peterson plays, even if JW is out for the poms.

Doesnt matter who plays flyhalf for the poms, watch out for that very wide across field kick. We are suckers for it.

Are you guys impressed with Pretorius?... well I will stick with Butch James at this point in time...

White has recalled scrumhalf Ruan Pienaar - at the expense of Ricky Januarie - and centre Wynand Olivier who takes the place of injured Jean de Villiers.

So Olivier was in France with the team... I noticed Akona's name in the bundle also...
It seems to me White will use Steyn on the inside... the logic tells me that Olivier is then Steyn's backup...
Taking over Julies is mistifying, rather take Waylon Murray as backup for Fourie... the forgotten man at this moment of course is Meyer Bosman...

butch must stop kicking da ball at every chance :(

England will almost certainly play the kicking game against us. I think that we should use that against them and attack them with out using the boot. Use the same tactics as we used against Aus when we sent our 2nd team and we wend 14 - 0 up in no time.

Francois Steyn is a big lad... so let the ball go to him via him make sure he supported by either 7 or 8, let him try and hit the hole, he obviously loves having the ball...

He will break the line one or other time, and send those outside him away, whilst the breaks does not come the support will recycle that ball... once the defence is concentrating too much on James and Steyn the ball goes to Fourie and he is no slouch...

I just can't wait...
