Exactly what is the conditions of the straight up standard for the SG S5?I think you pay R399 per month and get only the phone and have to pay for airtime and data.Do you have to buy bundles or do you pay at a specific rate?

It's a pay as you go contract. You buy your own data / airtime bundles above the R399 contract price.

Anyone who can explain why a person would go for Straight Up Standard over Straight Up or Straight Up TopUp.?

For a Samsung Galaxy S5 :

Straight Up Standard -> R459 (no benefits)
Straight Up -> R429 (100 minutes/sms/mb data)

For a Blackberry Z10:

Straight Up Standard -> R199 (no benefits)
Straight Up TopUp -> R189 (100 minutes/sms/mb data)

So what am I missing? What actually makes this package not completely pointless?
