Anyone know if the Sony Ericsson Satio is available anywhere?

It is shown on the MTN upgrade website, price not pathetic, like R380 pm, I wonder why its not shown on their new contracts though?

Vodacom magazine is also reviewing it, as though its release is imminent..

Who was it that used to give info about the phones in testing : was it not Vodacom3g?

Also waiting for this one......

No it was JK8...

1st week November, phone passed testing lastweek.

@JK8: there you go, just as reliable as ever.
Thanks mate!

Does anyone know when Vodacom is going to offer it as an upgrade option?

I've been calling and all the consultants can offer is 'sometime this month or next month'.

Nashua Mobile have no clue as at today..... They have not even received notification that it is in the pipeline....

FINALLY!

I popped up to a Vodacom 4u store today and the guy was putting the plastic model out as I arrived.

It's on the deal sheets and available for order now, stock should be arriving at the end of the month/beginning of December.

The pay in looked like it ran from R4000 odd to R900.
I'm on a Talk 240 and I need to pay in R1389.

That's a not too small wad of money but considering this should take the place of the digital camera I wanted to buy, it's a good deal.

A Vodacom shop assistant said this weekend that it should be out on about the 4th December !

I was seriously considering this fone till I read that it has only a 1000mA battery. It may need to be re-charged everyday, which is what I have to do with my current fone & its damn irritating.

So I will def. not get the Satio as apealing as it is.

When you guys ask the the uninformed consultants, make sure you ask for the Satio and the U1i, they only know product codes so its best just to make sure.
Satio was SE code name for the phone but its seems like they using the name. Im not yet sure what the SPs will call it.

Just saw the Aino being advertised...

Remember that a Li-Po 1000 mAh battery and a Li-Ion 1000 mAh is really 2 different products that you can't compare!

Does Vodacom have this phone in black on contract or only in silver as I've heard?

I got mine yesterday - Silver.

When I ordered it the girl said that's the only colour they had and I wasn't fussy.

Damn nice so far - bit slow to pickup the satellites for the GPS but all good!

Nice! Getting mine just now.

Yeah I don't mind really, the black does look better though. Hopefully I can pickup a black replacement shell at a fair price sometime in the future.

oh yeah - the 8Gig mem stick is already in the mem slot - so don't start raging when you can't find it in the box ;)

One place I had a bit of trouble was connecting it to my pc using PC suite.
I eventually got round it by using my bluetooth dongle and creating a connection between the phone and PC, then starting the PC Suite and connecting via bluetooth.

I had similar problems with my M600i - I think it was a bad drivier install with the M600i that has been carried over..
