Got it ... playing it on absolute maximum settings at 1280x1024 ... and it looks beautiful and runs nicely too, indoors 60fps ... outdoors 35-40fps ... nice game so far ... anyone else played it?

my pc spec is AMD 4800+, 7800GTX in SLI ... 2 Gig RAM (well looks like my PC is still able to run the latest games maxed out, so i will wait before i upgrade .... hehehe :D )
 
my pc is about a tenth as quick as yours, so i haven't even bothered installing it...:D but i'll try it out when i upgrade in the next few months

Man, this is depressing. When I upgraded my pc early last year it was a monster, and your pc so outclasses mine its just sad. Except for graphics card :)
 
stunning game. might be slightly dated in the GFX department, but has the best ambience, atmoshphere out there. Massive levels, and creepy in a non-cheesy fright way (unlike fear, doom etc...)
 
a friend of mine plays it at low settings on P4 2.8 1gb ram and 6600gt card and it doesn't look that bad. I play at max settings wth the occassional stutter on an AMD 4400+ 2gb ram and 7800GTX 512 XXX. Though i will prob set a few things lower to prevent those few stutters
 
What a game... Multi player wise

Played it over the weekend... Multiplayer is pretty sweet, however the big levels will not suit small bedroom LANS, will look for each other for like 3 hours on end....

Playing it on (DONT LAUGH) AMD 2600 & 6600GT, medium settings all the way through and looks pretty good, well not as good as the 8800GTX but still doesn't look like quake 1 so I am happy for now...

The upcoming upgrade will be so worth it though, just dont know what to get, that will last... :(
 
STALKER.

My copy arrived a few days ago, loving it to bits. Running fantastic on max detail @ 1280x1024. (c2d e6600, 8800gtx, 2gb ram)

Absolutely beautiful, very haunting atmosphere, reminds me of the mini series of Steven King's "The Stand"
 
I have been playing Stalker almost every few days since it was released.
Patching it all the time (up to 1.0004 now, which ads and imprves alot) also patch 1.1 is coming out which will un-lock free-play mode.

Im running it at Maximum settings at 1280 x 1024
on a Core2Duo, 2GB Ram, 8600GTS.

Best game I have ever player, I also have a server for it online.
Hamachi server.. the name for it is "JOEGAMES" there is no password.
So, if you wanna play online with a few people join the server.

Also, Stalker: Clear Sky comes out next year and THAT is going to FAR better than any other game ever made by a long way imo.

1024x768 w/ High and some med settings on no Dynamic Lighting on a 6600 looked crazy... clocked it 4 times in a row and sold it!! wish I still had it now :( It is a E X C E L E N T ! game! IMO it set the standard for other free roam games!!

OH! Keep a look out for the expansion!! Clear Sky!!
 
Best game I played all year...

Yep me agrees this is one of the best games ever.
I were lucky enough to play the game with allmost all settings on max :D

Me played it on second highest difficulty as I do with most games.. :o

My current system:

PentiumD 3.4GHz Dual Core
1500MB Hynix DDR2 RAM
80GB Samsung HDD + 40GB Maxtor HDD (Both IDE)
Inno3D 7600GST -> This is such a sweet card.. (Gonna miss it once I get my 8800 :(:( )

Only crappy part was only found out about the 7 different endings after unistalling the game and deleting the save games :mad::mad::mad:
