XBOX 360 has the RGH Hack which allows you to copy your games to the HDD, allows you to install homebrew apps and many more advantages - Google is your friend.
I installed a 320GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue HDD (preferred type) and formatted it so the XBOX 360 sees it as an original XBOX HDD and loaded all my game ISO's onto it.
Unfortunately because of the RGH, there is no online play - can still connect to internet to download artwork etc.
