S129 letter of demand.

Pull your credit record from all the big bureaus, and see if any of them have any missed or late payments. If nothing incorrect is shown, don't worry about anything.
I do this, twice a year. I stagger it out with big bureaus. Since you get one free per year, that way you can check more often.

A few years back, Transunion screw up my record saying I bought a house in Kuils River and a car. So I contacted them and they wanted me to jump through hoops.

My others were clear so I just went on with my life.

I used to pull the reports, but these days just logging in to the websites and having a look at the dashboard will alert you if anything is wrong. But yeah, pulling the report and saving it is a good idea if you want to keep a record of things.

Get the free detailed breakdown from each of the below. You're entitled to one free report on yourself per year.

Note: you may want to create a burner email for this since they might spam you. But write down the password and keep it because occasionally in life you'll find yourself needing to check your credit score.

thanks, this helped a lot.

It says I have no accounts or debt in arrears.

It does say I missed one payment from Vodacom in 2018, August, but seeing as I've done two upgrades since then on my contract, I'm guessing that's not the issue, nor did I even know about this, or how that happens. My contract is like R349/month, so there's no way I didn't have that in my account for them to debit lol.

Yeah, then nothing to worry about. Even if you did miss a payment in 2018, just don’t acknowledge it, because if no-one has contacted you about it in the past five years, it’s prescribed.

Once I was at some Tyre shop and upon wanting to pay got told I had to give my number for them to conclude the transaction. Politely declined. NO. Allright 0..... 1... 2... 345... 6.... 789. I think I got up to six iirc before he realized what I'm busy doing. Paid and left happy

I don’t think that missed payment should still be there on your credit report, usually credit reports only show the last 2 years of your history. The missed payment from vodacom was 5 years ago.

Three years , not 5.
