S3 : How to Flash ?

So I've downloaded Odin and the ROM thing. Within the ROM zip I see :

I9300XXDLJ1_I9300OJVDLJ2_I9300XXDLID_HOME.tar.md5
SS_DL.dll

I go to download mode, open Odin and reading a tutortial on the web, it mentions click Pit and selecting a Pit file - but there's no pit file in the ROM that I downloaded. It allows me to select a Pit from the Odin directory - but I don't actually know what it is and don't want to brick :/

Any help on how to do this?

It seems to me what you downloaded was a custom kernel, not a ROM. How large is the file (a rom would be over 700MB, a kernel is only a few MB large)? Or better yet, give us a link to the where you got the file.
