S4 Contacts problem

Hi there I need some assistance. I cannot add a new contact. When I do, I get a error message that the app has stopped and it goes back to the home screen. I've tried downloading other contacts apps from the Playstore but they all revert back to the default S4 app when I want to add a contact. This is weird and frustrating!

Have you tried re booting your phone? I find whenever I get a funny on my S4 I restart my phone before trying anything else and it usually sorts out the problem.

Under phone settings and accounts, maybe remove your Google account and then re-add it...
