This thread will provide discussion and results of the by-elections that occur in South Africa in 2020.

January 15 by-elections

ANC wins solid majority in Mamusa in North West, FF+ win ward off DA

February 3 by-elections.

Yesterday all by-elections were in the North West province, with the wards for one municipality all up for grabs due to it being dissolved (see link).

All wards, except for Ward 9, are ANC strongholds.

SO -- what are the reasons for the EFF increase ?
Looks to me as if those areas are becoming polarised

the idiotic and gullible masses have become sufficiently radicalised to the point that they believe in all this communism bullshyte ... because ... you know ... a system that has caused more death and destruction than any other ideology that has been tried by some of the brightest (yet sadly misguided) minds of our history will magically be implemented successfully for the very first time ever in the world ... in Africa that can't run anything other than running it into the ground

that or they just want more free shyte and they somehow believe after the ANC has raped the state coffers dry that the EFF can still get blood from a stone

Seems like people will soon learn that there is more to voting ANC than supporting corruption.

unfortunately yes, crossed that Rubicon in the last national elections...in the absence of a viable alternative... better to go with the devil you know, than the hell the EFF will unleash.

We're still mostly safe from the EFF cancer in the coastal provinces :thumbsup:
