SA ADSL just went to hell?

Yip, mine *JUST* came up. While it was down I phoned 0800 375 375 and it said that they will be doing "maintenance" from 12 to 6am. And we might be experiencing slow browsing or frequent disconnects in the meantime... Grrrrr.

I have just finished watching HERO and HELLBOY in the study on my PC when I saw that my connection is dead.

Well, don't forget, Telkom expects us all to be tucked up warm in bed in the wee hours of the morning, so that's probably when they do "maintenance"

Interesting thing, although I was in bed early like a good little pathetic gimboid, around 1.20am while reading, I heard my puter hard drive start grinding away like a grindy thing, lasted about 20 seconds, figured it was just windows erm - well, being windows really and doing "it's thing"

Anyhow, this morning I found it had crashed - I rebooted and it got stuck in file checking mode big time. Checked my firewall logs and someone had logged into my Firezilla server, which I had stupidly left running like an idiot - some kinda SYN attack.

I just realised that this is completely unrelated to anything to do with this thread ...

Ah well, at least I'm posting at a decent time of the morning

Mine was down two nights in a row this week... It would be great if they have a section on the SAIX site we can access to see when there will be planned maintenance....

Saix does have a notice board - log in with your adsl username and password - you can also subscribe to their email service and you will then receive emails of all their planned work

:\ mine was down from about 1am to about 11am. It went down at about 11:40 again and only came back around 1am. After 1 it's been okish except for the odd unable to connect for every 10 minutes about - i hate Telkom :\
