Hey Guys
So I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right section,if so, mods kindly move
but I've just built a new website as a side project - http://valueforest.co.za Value Forest

It's still a work in progress but basically it searches gumtree,olx and junkmail
and returns consolidated results, price average etc

I'd love to hear feedback of yay,nay suggestions etc

Next feature for version 2: Post items to all said websites at once.

Have added filter out list to mobile version aswell, with regards to @Slab that message was too prevent huge searches but I will look at tweaking it, if you could pls tell me what you tried to search may also help. Thanks
 
Thanks for the feedback guys, I've upped the search limit a bit, but larger searches will still take a while
 
@eg2505 Thanks for telling me about that other site, I wonder why it went down.. Anyways I'm looking to add
an alerts feature quite soon, daily emails for new ads of selected keywords
 
I hope you have asked the website owners for permission - scraping website content is typically against TOS.

I have tried to contact some but got through to sales teams in Canada that gave boilerplate answers, so I figured if the site got popular enough they would come to me and then we could discuss. Besides what I'm doing isn't really that different to search engines like Google. I'm just consolidating results, not claiming content ownership or mining data and I'm linking back to the original post every time.

BTW: Once you get going with bidorbuy search, please drop me a PM - we have product feeds which can be customised to be quite specific and brings the search closer to your hosted solution rather than executing an external search against our side. You should then also look at our affiliate programme as it will allow you to monetize your referrals.

pleasure, bookmark it a while back, and though what a great idea, was just missing something because it showed all results split
so all OLX were at the top, all junkmail were in the middle ect...

your one at least shows it as one big page with the exact links to each one, really great idea that.
