SA Customs clears SterKinekor

And pigs will fly. James Lennox is talking out his @rse if it is indeed him on the comments section.

The suspicious items have been sent to SAFACT, in accordance with normal Customs regulations, and should be released in the next five days.
SAFACT has got what to do with their property???

Exclusive distribution licenses should be made illegal in terms of competition legislation... That might bring game prices down to a reasonable level...

I wonder why 18 games from an online shop would make customs assume that they are pirated? Must be a huge amount of games for Customs to deal with. They're probably playing them. And everyone knows you can't pirate a PS3 game.

1+ very true theres not even a stable chip for the PS3 yet, no chip no pirated games!! what retards

Leave the 18 games, look for the drugs, o sorry its prob their own drugs. Its like arresting Pietie for pi*sing on the sidewalk while Sannie is being raped and murdered next door!

SAFACT are a bunch of whiners and slackers. What exactly do they accomplish. Every few months they sit up and decide to organize a raid on a flea market or get the customs guys to inspect a few games coming into the country. Please. THEY are the reason why games are more expensive since the local distributors have to pay a tax to keep SAFACT doing nothing. Get rid of SAFACT and drop the game prices a few rands more. Don't insult our intelligence. They are a waste of time, space, air and money.

Woopwoop! Got my KZ2 special edition this morning! :D Guess it sneaked past customs.

Wow, it was quick. Shopto.net shipped it on the 2nd and it arrived at my local post office on the 9th! Shopto.net FTW!

Big up to customs for being pro-active. Maybe someone should ask Shopto.net to contact customs and get themselves officially recognised, or something...

Wow. Dude, I've rarely seen anyone manage to put both feet in their mouth at once. Congratulations. Judging by your post-count, the law of averages dictates that eventually you will post a stupid post. Sorry to hear about that.

Anyway, before you inflict your unresearched opinion on us, maybe you should take a turn to the safact website at www.safact.co.za and read their annual reports. Maybe you can see what they're doing. And then maybe you can come back and try again.

Malema is also pro-active. Doesn't make him smart.

I agree with you 100%, his post was lacking...

I tried to think of adding something to the list he made at the end - but water, air, money and time practically covers it all. Spot on Gary!

Customs should NOT be inspecting individual or personal items for anything. It's not their job. They should check if it's not contraband (eg drugs or child pr0n)
and leave it at that. They can call out SAFACT when a container full of games comes in but individual customer deliveries are none of Customs' business.

Game piracy is not even a criminal law issue but civil law.

They may be infringing on free trade agreements with the EU also, by hassling merchandise from EU countries destined for customers in SA.

Agree 100%.

Next time they intercept some drugs, maybe they should call PAGAD to inspect it. It has much to do with them as SAFACT has to do with private property ordered by post/courier. They can be notified, or even report suspicious activities, but sending stuff to them is not on.
