Keen to talk to any South African software devs that did the emigration thing to Australia.
Like to know more about your industry experience there, also the industry nuances between the cities.

I'd be keen to hear from others too.

Recently landed a position in Melbourne for a senior developer. Hoping to get there early March :D

Yep, I applied via stackoverflow and then did a few assessments. They're sponsoring a 457 long-term work visa. Just too bad the exchange rate sucks so bad right now since it makes the cost of moving near impossible.

But the earnings should you come back...

How the hell did you manage that? Also, do you have a degree? Years experience?

You got PM.

I have a BSc in IT Management and over 7 years of experience in the industry. The thing I realized is that getting a visa sponsorship means looking on niche sites like stackoverflow. If you go to http://stackoverflow.com/jobs and search locations such as Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States and Netherlands, you will find a large number of jobs offering visa sponsorship.

So, if you don't mind being patient and keep looking for opportunities, it's as simple as doing a few assessments and skype/call interviews.
