So has Nintendo chosen the perfect spoiler date to launch the Wii in South Africa or is it just being cocky?

Invitations went out yesterday to a launch event for Nintendo's next generation console for 26 September, the same date as Microsoft launches Halo 3 (the biggest game for the XBox 360 so far).

While both companies would argue that there isn't any conflict as Halo is aimed at the hard-core XBox gamer (apparently a 26-year old single male) and the Wii targets the family market, the timing is just too good to be coincidence.
