Government spokesperson Joel Net****enzhe said the government would be "scaling up its communication and social mobilisation" on the Aids fight, noting that the budget for the campaign had been increased over a two-year period from R160-million rand to R200-million.

"With 134 473 people initiated on anti-retroviral treatment by the end of March, and an estimated additional 80 000 initiatives in the private and non-government organisation sector, South Africa today has the largest programme in the world," said Net****enzhe.

Government seems to be slowly waking up to how desperate things are in the general community - somehow R200 million just doesn't seem enough.

... and if they continue to do nothing (about everything) there is going to be some serious trouble.
