Hey Jes, thanks for the shout out. Really appreciated! Its great that you are supporting a South African project.
@Quikslver - Steam is great, the problem is when you purchase a boxed retail copy or purchase from another digital retailer like Origin, Amazon, etc. So Reload allows you to manage all your saves from one platform. TBH, the most exciting feature is the ability to turn single slot autosave games into games where you can backtrack your progress to try out other choices. Also, its kinda neat not having to manually backup and restore your saves before a format. But, if you are someone that has uncapped ADSL and never plays any EA games, or certain Blizzard Games (Starcraft 2), then sure - use Steam.
@RichardG That would be an option if we had the funds available to get it to the point that the market can use it. However, developing the software to this point will take up considerable resources that our team simply doesn't have. I assure you that if funding was not an issue then this would be the route that we would follow.
While some people obviously think our idea isn't that hot, I have an interesting fact to share. One out of every four views of our video follow up with a pledge. Now I do not know much about advertising, but I know enough to say with confidence that this is a phenomenally high conversion rate. This tells us that many people out there absolutely love the idea. The problem is that Kickstarter is obviously saturated with 1000's of projects and we have only enjoyed around 200 views.
We really would love it if any fellow South African could help by spreading the word.
