SA-MP help?

Not sure if anyone has or is playing it ... its a multiplayer mod for GTA:SA ... i used to play version 0.1 long ago and now for LAN purposes want to play the new version 0.3a . I'm using XP, GTS 250 and i have no mods both GTA:SA and SA-MP are freshly installed ... when i start SA-MP it is fine but i click on any one of the internet servers and try connect and nothing happens my Kaspersky notifies the running of the exe but still nothing... the pings are in the 400 mainly but even if i try connect to my own lan server nothing happens help?

Yip ... but so far nothing no one knows or has had the same problem... I have tried disabling antivirus ... no router firewall ... the GTA_Sa.exe is not running in the taskmanager even after kaspersky says ... i am trying to play with the cd ... do i maybe need a crack i have tried 2 so far but when i try connect it gives me a C++ runtime error ... so i not sure
