Not until there's a ruling. ANC and small boys dug their graves deeper this week with their conference.Thank You.
But is it even neccessary? Haven't they already won? Who cares what these clowns are doing every day after the fact?
Game. Set. Match. DA/EFF/SAYup, but also he acknowledges some of what he did was wrong via his answers in the hearing
Home dunk actually
Is the EFF trying to get airtime with supporting this DA court thinkg? I can't see them helping the DA score a PR win.
I guess they're opposing for the same reason DA is.Is the EFF trying to get airtime with supporting this DA court thinkg? I can't see them helping the DA score a PR win.

What’s wrong with IFP then, didn’t they support this crap?I guess they're opposing for the same reason DA is.
Sounds like it. I’m okay with pretending I’m eating a juicy steak, while knowing there is an elements of civil society that won’t let anything slide. You just don't get it
It strengthens the overall case. Look past the alphabet soup
Yeah, they backed the framework from the start. Why, I don't know. Dunno if it's either because they worry about KZN GPU, their positions in national GNU or if they for some reason think it was a good idea. What’s wrong with IFP then, didn’t they support this crap?
Public Works and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Sihle Zikalala says the department is fast-tracking the establishment of the Office of the Engineer-General to tighten regulation and ensure compliance with engineering standards across South Africa.
During the opening of the 2025 Construction Business and Project Management conference at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business, Zikalala said the new office would be critical in overseeing major engineering projects vital for economic growth.
His comments come in the wake of the collapse of the George building in the Western Cape, which claimed 34 lives and injured 28 others, as well as a separate incident in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, where four construction workers died when an embankment collapsed.
"In the aftermath of the tragic George building collapse, we need to look to conferences like this to move beyond preaching about safety to ensuring that safety is vigorously enforced," said Zikalala.
He stressed the importance of innovation and sustainability in infrastructure development, calling for the industry to adopt green building designs and technology-driven solutions.
Earlier this month, Human Settlements Minister Thembi Simelane announced the suspension of five officials, including the National Home Builders Registration Council CEO, after a report exposed severe inspection failures at the George construction site.
The report highlighted that inspectors failed to verify builder registration, assess structural drawings, or accurately report dangerous site conditions.
Zikalala said that creating the Engineer-General's office would help bridge the gap between regulation and compliance, ensuring that tragedies like George did not occur again.
He pointed to the need for greater transformation in the construction sector, saying it was largely shaped by historic patterns of exclusion.
He added that rural communities were often underserved, while women and youth remained under-represented in construction jobs and leadership roles.
Zikalala said:
The sector must evolve to not just be more productive, but also more equitable.
He emphasised that public-private partnerships would be critical in achieving infrastructure goals, and insisted that policy should be seen as a catalyst for change rather than a constraint.
"Policy is the lever through which we can build a resilient infrastructure economy, an inclusive workforce, and a climate-conscious construction sector," he said.
So much for DA/IFP alliance.Yeah, they backed the framework from the start. Why, I don't know. Dunno if it's either because they worry about KZN GPU, their positions in national GNU or if they for some reason think it was a good idea.
Just do your ****ing job Zikilala and then you won't have to write such a long essay. Not a bad idea, but "Engineer-General"? Really?
I pray, PRAY, for a joint press conference. Seeing Serial publicly bullied by Trump would be a bucket list item crossed off

Feels like manufactured drama to me imho.![]()
VAT u-turn creates chaos
The reversal of the planned VAT increase and expansion of zero-rated food items, though easing pressure on consumers, has imposed significant financial and operational burdens on retailers.mybroadband.co.za
The adjustment for us wasn't a headache. Easily able to adjust VAT on our backend, then pricing all increased to the next R99.99 while maintaining the same margin %.Feels like manufactured drama to me imho.
