It looks like legally the 0.5 percentage point VAT hike will still be going forward as there is not enough time to pass the bills before 1 May
a mere technicality then? nobody is going to actually implement it given all the announcements

also, isn't the DA's court battle in part to challenge the minister's authority to simply proclaim a new VAT rate? in which case he has now proclaimed it staying at 15%, legally sorted, unless the court rules that he doesn't have that power and thereby nullifies both his proclamations ... same outcome though

when will people learn to create survey questions that aren't ambiguous? ambiguity muddies the result

e.g. are they asking people to answer in terms of the "future coalition" they want to see or the "future coalition" they believe is likely to transpire?

Because most of the time those surveys and polls are designed to drive a particular agenda and not to get clear picture of people's sentiments
