Still waiting for part B of teh case. Not sure when/if that will happen

And the 52% that didn't vote? I'd venture a guess that they'd return to the ANC if there was enough evidence that the ANC has "fixed" its self.

Nah, they will stay as non-voters. The by-election actually had a higher turnout than during the local elections in 2021, which is not usually the case.

The DA losing a ward to the MK is like the ANC losing a ward to the Freedom Front, it doesn't matter by how many votes, it just makes a much bigger statement.

The MK is a natural competitor to the ANC, just like the EFF so now and again wards will change hands between those parties, the DA can lose a ward to the PA or Freedom Front, but nothing can be as scandalous as the DA losing a ward to Gwaza Mkhonto, that's why Zille was having such a spectacular meltdown.
