Cryin' has been arrested...

The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has arrested three top former Transnet executives linked to an allegedly corrupt multimillion-rand locomotive tender.

The two executives, Brian Molefe and Siyabonga Gama, surrendered themselves to the police on Monday morning and are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

Former Transnet CFO Anoj Singh and the parastatal’s former engineering chief executive Thamsanqa Jiyane have also been arrested and will make their first appearance in court alongside Molefe and Gama.

The arrests are in connection with a locomotive tender.

BEE and AA's main purpose was to enable corruption on the grand scale we are seeing. See the reality of what this has done to South Africa.

The ANC are the ANC they'll always protect their cdes. What you have to ask of the da is why is there no accountability framework in the GNU? Didn't they say that would be in place as part of the formation? Did the ANC dribble them again? The ANC are mopping the floor with the da.

No, you have to ask the ANC that since they put the clearing house under the control of Lotto-Billions-Paul.

The DA should focus on that rather than tilting at windmills. They've never brought that up. Its a coalition you can't just let the Ramaphosa hire and fire without consulting meaningfully. Anyway Ramaphosa claims he consulted with John but John was reeing like he got blindsided when he apparently did get consulted. Ramaphosa is lying but that should have been cleared at his meeting with Steenhuis.

He admitted to being consulted and requested 24 hours to speak with his party, but Ramaphosa issued the letter after 3 hours. I think this is the issue, Ramaphosa acting unilaterally as he's been doing for a while...

Leave the Constitution out of this. And the ****ing SOI has a clause in it for sufficient consensus (i.e. ANC and DA must agree on a decision before moving forward.

A GNU at its core is a ****ing coalition. ANC had 40%, couldn't govern alone. The delusions from cadres are astounding...

Oh yeah. Ramaphosa is clearly being a cynical weasel. He waits 4 months to fire the guy then refuses to given the DA time to consult. And seems he knows he can get away with it. Which he did.

I wouldn't call it consulted.

Rama essentially went to John and said, "I'm firing Whitfield LMAO". John asks for 24 hours to consult with the DA. Rama ignores and goes ahead three hours later.

It's the problem DA faces.

If they leave GNU, then the media, ANC and electorate will gnash their teeth and cry. While they stay in as pragmatically as possible, those same okes have a laugh and taunt DA to leave. ANC knows this.

So not only does DA have to try and block MK/EFF from government, they have to salvage what they still can from GNU.

A difficult situation, to say the least.
