excellent

both anc & da need a good waking up.

The PA is basically the coloured version of the ANC so be careful what you wish for. He's already engaged in PA cadre deployment in his ministry and organisations related to that ministry. Also talking to coloureds (albeit all of them urban & with university degrees, so not Gayton's target market), they wouldn't trust Gayton one bit. They tell me they know 'his type' within their communities. Complete chancer.

Say the DA loses the majority of uneducated rural coloureds, can they still be able to keep their majority in the province based on the support they have from the urban, educated coloureds?

I think so, yes. The three biggest municipalities in the WC are Cape Town (2.1m registered voters), Drakenstein (~138k), George (~116k) and Stellenbosch (~100k). DA are quite strong in all of them, although I do hear murmurings of the PA at around 8% in CT (only got 4.4 percent in 2024).

just a shake-up, not a palace coup !

Glad they are finally starting to clean up that mess after many years and millions billions wasted (even if it is just to coat a turd in chocolate for the G20).
Looking forward to there being some real progress finally on the actual route that links Joburg CBD with Sandton . Louis Botha has been a fsk-up from Empire to Marlboro for over a decade because of this disaster of a project

Is Emfuleni the kind of Service the people want to smell (and touch if they aren't really careful)?
Emfuleni residents still trapped in sewage
The people there did leave the ANC in large numbers and will hopefully bury them (preferably in sewerage) next year. There just doesn't seem to be any one party getting the votes. The ANC may still remain the largest able to form another coalition with the EFF and other such parties.

I think the largest portion of "lost votes" for the ANC was more to do with people just not voting at all.
If I compare 2 last local elections total number of votes in Emfuleni went from 195k down to 150k. ANC 108k to 60k ... DA 48k to 40k ...and EFF pretty stable at 24k to 23k.
FF+ were the only party to go up in anything approaching significant numbers at 4k to 10k.
