Of course it does? Do you think construction companies aren't making money? There is also lots of spin offs from construction like other industries, the bricks, cement, tools etc.

They are making money, moving money from bank acct A to bank acct B in South Africa. It's not foreign revenue.

There is also lots of spin offs from construction like other industries, the bricks, cement, tools etc.

And those are under a different category like manufacturing that do where their products are exported.

First time since Feb 2023 that the Rand is below R17/dollar. But before the ANC congratulates themselves, this has nothing to do with them and much more to do with Trump. It's far more dollar weakness than Rand strength,

That's not how economics works though, producing revenue for the country is in the form of taxes which construction companies pay. The also employ people, the same as any other sector.

Not to mention the benefits to a country that has good infrastructure for all other sectors of business, i would actually label the construction industry as one of the most important sectors in any country.

A country that has good infrastructure is also more likely to get increased foreign investment, these things are all interlinked.
