She’s getting support from all parties, hilariously, a sizeable amount from the EFF and MK.

Amongst all South African voters, 60% said they supported Zille’s candidacy for mayor of Johannesburg. A third of those surveyed said they opposed it with 8% saying they didn’t know or refused to answer.

When support for Zille’s candidacy was broken down by political party, exactly 50% of ANC supporters said they backed her standing for Jo’burg mayor with 44% opposed.

Nearly 90% of DA supporters backed her for mayor.

Some 41% of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supported her candidacy while 53% opposed it.

Amongst Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) supporters 41% backed Zille for mayor, with 52% opposed.

Some 51% of black respondents supported Zille’s candidacy, 87% of coloured respondents supported it, 66% of Indian respondents backed it, and 84% of white respondents backed it.

Now that I am thinking, it is no wonder Steenhuisen is being attacked by media these days. Someone in DA doesn't want him to be our next President, first President from DA.

Zille as Mayor of COJ is first step towards DA presidency. I don't think ANC knows that a tsunami is coming. It is no wonder why this thread has palpable excitement.

@TheChamp wishes he were an ANC backbencher. So far, he's only achieved a low level paid propagandist. His promotion to high level paid propagandist with a subsequent pay increase isn't going to happen until he learns to remember his lies and debate a subject instead of posting rhetoric. His handlers have recognised his station and won't promote him above his ability - Posting rhetoric from X.

Seriously? You so daft you can’t even recognise sarcasm. I know who he was all along, hence my question in the first post….. since he is the acting minister, can you remind us what happened to the last two stalwarts that filled his position? Remind me again why he is the acting minister?

Yeah, all I said is that I don't recall when was the last time Britain had influence, I suspect the English thing goes back centuries, my recollection of that time is fuzzy.

But I guess it's still fair and correct to say that is influence of sorts.

The whole thing is brilliantly put together, but there is a specifically brilliant moment in an interview with Moaletsi which must be one of his best comments to date (and that’s saying a lot).

I’m paraphrasing, but essentially he is saying, “Cyril Ramaphosa became a billionaire because of the the shares he was given in Standard Bank, even though he has no idea how a bank functions or makes money, and couldn’t contribute anything meaningful towards the running of Standard Bank”

That’s the problem with BEE, it’s made a small handful extremely wealthy without doing anything to contribute to or grow the economy. Yet the ANC defends it as if it’s the final solution.
